Don is the son of local born Ron and his wife Doris Jefcoat.  Raised in rural Ontario.     At the age of 26 Don decided to come visit his father who had been living in Vernon for a number of years.   What was suppose to be a a short vacation  has now been 15 years.   Don has turned down offers to move to take on roles in other communities but loves Vernon and looks forward to many more years living, working, and playing here.
Don who is now a cook serves in the community as a member of the North Okanagan Optimist Club, HAPN (an organization hoping to see family and pet friendly housing), And Maple Leaf Community Services.
Don has 2 sister one in Maple Creek Sasketchewan, and the other in Toronto.   In addition to the traditional family he is the unofficial adopted family member of a large extended family here.
